New rules are effective 1/1/2021 The Oregon Real Estate Agency has adopted permanent administrative rules that update the regulation of advertising by brokers, principal brokers, and property managers. The most significant changes include: Property managers now have their own advertising rule. Principal brokers no longer need to approve the advertising of associated brokers. The definition of advertising has been updated. The advertising requirements for electronic media, including social media, were clarified. An individual licensee who is known by a name other than their legal name can register that name as an alternative name for the purpose of advertising.
